Song of Happiness Resounds Generation after Generation >>

The optimistic lyric song We’ve Planted Skullcap and Crab-Apple Trees on the Mountains, created in 1960, was written by Kim Sang O and composed by Kim Ok Song.
It reflects the boundless pride of the Korean people leading a happy life on their country which was changed beautifully under the leadership of the great Workers’ Party of Korea.
The song sings of the life of the people who plant and cultivate various species of fruit trees on mountains to turn theirs into a more beautiful and better village to live in, true to the intention of the WPK to turn all the mountains of the country into the “treasure mountains” and “gold mountains.”
By dint of smooth melody, stable rhythms, and soft, lyric and broad tunes, it depicts the happy life of the people enthusiastically and earnestly.
It is a meaningful song still favoured by the Korean people.
