History

  The Korea Art Exchange Association (KAEA) is an organization specializing in exchanges with other countries in the fields of music, dance, fine art and acrobatics. It was founded as the Korea Performing Art Exchange Society under the careful guidance and concern of the Workers’ Party of Korea and the government of the Democratic People’s Republic of Korea on August 30, Juche 69 (1980).
  Its fundamental mission is to ensure successful holding of the traditional April Spring Friendship Art Festival (ASFAF) in celebration of the birthday of President Kim Il Sung as an auspicious revolutionary event common to humanity.
  It has several departments like the ASFAF Organizing Department, the Exchange Department which is in charge of art exchanges with other countries, the External Information Department which makes and disseminates various programs and handouts and operates the website of the Society, the Art Transfer Department which instructs the foreigners and overseas Koreans in art and other supporting departments.
  For its successful fulfilment of its mission and duty, it was honoured with the Order of the National Flag 1st Class.
