Highest Institution of Juche-Oriented Art Education

  Pyongyang Kim Won Gyun University of Music and Dance, founded on March 1, Juche 38 (1949), is a “pedigree farm” for training talented musicians and the highest institution of Juche-oriented art education of the DPRK.
   The university, newly built in Juche 95 (2006) thanks to the great love and care of Chairman Kim Jong Il, has all the conditions for art education, including school buildings equipped with modern educational facilities, individual teaching rooms, and a music hall, recording studio and library.
   There are faculties that give specialized education, including national instrumental music, vocal music, composition, Western instrumental music and dance, and dozens of major faculties, and students with natural talents are giving full play to their talents.
   The university was honoured with the Order of Kim Il Sung and the Order of the National Flag 1st Class for its great contribution to the development of the Juche-oriented art.
   The university, which has traversed a proud road as the highest institution of Juche-oriented art education under the wise guidance of the Workers' Party of Korea, will fulfill its mission as a “pedigree farm” for training talented musicians.
