Pyongyang Kim Won Gyun University of Music and Dance was founded on March 1, 1949.
  The university is a centre for training talented artistes, including conductors, composers, instrumentalists, vocalists, dancers and musical instrument makers in the country.
  It has produced a large number of honorary title holders, winners of national and international contests, and talented artistes who are beloved of the Korean people. It conducts various exchanges with world-renowned conservatories of music.
