Place Dear to Korean People’s Hearts

In this balmy spring the Korean people visit President Kim Il Sung’s birthplace at Mangyongdae with an ardent yearning and respect for him.
Preserved in this straw-thatched house are the relics that showcase the living of his family members, who, though living a poor life in the times of national distress, dedicated their all generation after generation for the country and fellow people.
Shouldering the destiny of his country and fellow people, Kim Il Sung embarked on the road of revolution and achieved the historic cause of national liberation by leading the glorious anti-Japanese revolutionary struggle to victory. Only then he went to his birthplace after 20 years’ absence and had an emotional reunion with his grandparents.
Many tales are told of the careers of great persons in the world, but none is greater than that of Kim Il Sung, who was born and grew up as a revolutionary in a patriotic family.
The April spring holiday will remain forever as the most auspicious and greatest holiday of the Korean nation.
