Created in 1961, the song We Are the Happiest in the World delineates how proud and dignified the Korean people are, leading the happiest life and having no cause for envying those in other countries.
  The lyrics say that the people hold up the great leader Comrade Kim Il Sung as their father and the whole country has become a large harmonious family in the warm embrace of the Workers’ Party of Korea. They also stress that as all the people are united with a single heart around the WPK, the country will prosper forever.
  A favourite song of all the Korean people, this paean to eternal happiness will reverberate throughout the country forever.
