Formed in 1962, it is a state-level art organization which creates and stages the music and dance pieces, representative of several ethnic groups of China. It not only enjoys popularity at home for its distinctive performances but also makes performance tours of many countries.
It has participated in the April Spring Friendship Art Festival three times.
