Kim Won Gyun (January 2, 1917-April 5, 2002) is a composer who wrote the music for the immortal revolutionary hymn Song of General Kim Il Sung and the national anthem of the Democratic People’s Republic of Korea.
  He also composed the music for many songs, including March of Korea, Our Supreme Commander, making a great contribution to the development of the Juche-oriented art.
  He was honoured with Kim Il Sung Prize and the titles of Labour Hero and People’s Artist and many other state commendations.
