Oungumis a national musical instrument which was named by the great leader Comrade Kim Jong Il.
  During the days of studying at Kim Il Sung University, he participated in military manoeuvres at a military campsite in Oun-dong. At that time, he initiated the work of making a musical instrument and led his fellow students to complete it, and personally named it.
  For its clear tone and rich volume, it is used in playing solo, ensemble, concert and other musical pieces.
