Greeting February 8 every year, the whole country is filled with great pride and excitement. February 8, Juche 37 (1948) is the historic day when the great leader Comrade Kim Il Sung founded the Korean People’s Army, a genuine army of the revolution and people that inherited the glorious traditions of the anti-Japanese armed struggle. Because they did not have an army, the Korean people were deprived of their country and were subjected to the misery of colonial slavery forced upon them by the Japanese imperialists for nearly half a century in the past. For this reason, they are celebrating the founding anniversary of the KPA, the genuine army of the Korean people, as a grand holiday. Thanks to the seasoned leadership of the respected Comrade Kim Jong Un, the KPA demonstrates its might as an invincible army and February 8 will shine for ever in the hearts of the Korean people as a symbol of victory and glory.
