Whenever we look up to our tricolour national flag fluttering high in the sky over the country, it teaches us how we should defend the country which has traversed the course adorned with victory and glory and how we should exalt its brilliance.
  Our national flag is permeated with the red blood and spirit of patriotism of the Korean people.
  Whereas it reflected the jubilation of the people of being citizens of a new country 75 years ago when the Republic was founded, it now mirrors their pride and confidence of being members of the greatest country.
  This is why the Korean people, while looking up to the flag that is associated with the sacred course of development of the Republic, shout at the top of their voices, “We are citizens of the Democratic People’s Republic of Korea.”
