  •   People’s Artist Kim Ok Song (June 30, 1916-October 25, 1965) devoted himself heart and soul to creating revolutionary songs and musical compositions true to President Kim Il Sung’s Juche-oriented idea on art and literature.
      Noted for his profound thinking, burning passion and persistence, he created many excellent works during his career.
      Typical examples include the songs Song of Women, To a Decisive Battle, My Song in the Trench and A Bumper Harvest in the Chongsan Plain, as well as the orchestral music The Countryside in Spring.
      The Korean people often recall this talented composer and his songs with warm affection.
