In celebration of the Day of the Sun, the birthday of President Kim Il Sung, which is the greatest national holiday of the Korean nation, the Eighth April Spring People’s Art Festival will be held from April 12 through 18 in Pyongyang, the capital city of the DPRK.
   It is a grand political event that is dedicated to the praise of the great man, the founding father of socialist Korea and the eternal leader of the Korean people; it is also a display of the determination of all its people to honour the sacred revolutionary career and undying exploits of the President and carry forward his cause through generations.
   The festival is to be held in the professional and amateur categories, and a magic show is to take place as part of it.
   It will inspire greater revolutionary enthusiasm and optimism in the Korean people in their vigorous march towards a new horizon of national development under the wise leadership of General Secretary Kim Jong Un of the Workers’ Party of Korea.
